Different kinds of metals require different types of the extraction procedure. So, extraction is not an easy thing. It requires a lot of patience, knowledge, and practical experience to extract pure metal.
- Once the workers extract the metal, they insert it in a blast furnace. In a blast furnace, the metal melts down into a liquid form. The high temperature of the furnace induces the state change of the extracted metal.
- Then the melted liquid metal is poured into a ceramic mold. After that, the workers seal the mold and let the metal inside the mold.
- After some time, the liquid metal becomes solid and takes the shape of the mold.
That is how the investment casting is done. In the past, these stages were done manually. At present, machines do the entire process of investment casting. That is how the metal parts are manufactured by using the invest casting techniques.
